It began with a family house, researching and recording occupants, an interest in Local History and joining a Family History Society. Then thanks to an unexpected career change the creation and design of Family History activities started to develop twenty-five years ago.  Who knew where it would lead!

​

Studied Family & Community History with the Open University before starting teaching for the WEA in the days of libraries full of film and fiche, subsequently migrating via computers to the internet - then along came zoom.

​

A speaker at major events retired Jackie ran Tutorials for various organisations including Family History Societies, and the Society of Genealogists

​

Committed to promoting volunteer groups such as the Yorkshire Group of Family History Societies, Jackie is a Master Craftsman of the Guild of One Name Studies, and member of Airedale & Wharfedale, Bradford, Calderdale, Kent and Wakefield Family History Societies.  Previously the British Association for Local HistoryThe Society for One Place Studies and the Yorkshire Vernacular Buildings Study Group.
