It began with a family house, researching and recording occupants, an interest in Local History and joining a Family History Society. Then thanks to an unexpected career change the creation and design of Family History activities started to develop twenty-five years ago.  Who knew where it would lead!

​

Studied Family & Community History with the Open University before starting teaching for the WEA in the days of libraries full of film and fiche, subsequently migrating via computers to the internet - then along came zoom.

​

A speaker at major events including The Really Useful Family History Show, All about that Place, The Family History ShowRootsTech. Now retiring Jackie ran Tutorials for various organisations including Family History Societies, and the Society of Genealogists

​

Committed to promoting volunteer groups such as the Yorkshire Group of Family History Societies, Jackie is a Master Craftsman of the Guild of One Name Studies, and member of Bradford, Calderdale, Kent and Wakefield Family History Societies, the British Association for Local History and The Society for One Place Studies
