It began with a family house, researching its occupants, an interest in Local History and joining a Family History Society. Then thanks to an unexpected career change the opportunity to design and create Family History activities twenty-four years ago.

Starting teaching in the days of libraries full of film and fiche, before migrating into computers then the internet and now enjoying a mix of face to face and online delivery.

A speaker at major virtual events including The Really Useful Family History Show, All about that Place, The Family History Show, RootsTech, Jackie runs online Tutorials for various organisations including the Society of Genealogists

Still promoting local groups through the Yorkshire Group of Family History Societies, a member of the Guild of One Name Studies, Bradford, Calderdale, Kent and Wakefield FHSs, the British Association for Local History, The Society for One Place Studies and Historians Collaborate Group,
